Yes I also noticed this on the oxford website, I do believe schemes like this are a good thing for wannabe pilots as there is a higher chance of a job when training finishes.
A shame really as it’s a year too early for me!

Me too! Can anyone explain more about the loan please? As there is no way that my single parent dearest hard working mother will be accepted as a guarantee against a big fat loan? Is this essential? Advice and help please folks! Cheers

BigBoeing,
See this thread (http://www.oxfordaviation.net/Forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1684) .
You don't need to be worried about earnings that much.

With those terms on a secured loan why would anyone go to HSBC rather than just remortgage? The end result is the same except you can get interest rates down as low as the base rate, and in the short term lower than that. Is it the payment holiday? Why not get an offset mortgage so you only draw down what you need.

Yup got the invite to stage 2.
Seems a bit harsh that if you cant make the date they gave you your out!
Worry's me a bit as stage 3 is set for when I'm on holiday
Anyways whens everyone in oxford, and where you staying? I guess I'd have to go down the night before and maybe spend 2 nights there.

Hi, Can anyone give a description of the stage 2 selection methods used by OAT? I know briefly that we've got aptitude testing, (PILAPT or microPat?) the usual other tests but im just wondering about the group exercises? Are these group discussions or like leadership problem solving etc types of exercise? Thanks for your help, hopefully see some of you there soon for the Excel stage 2.

they need students you want to learn how to fly just go and enjoy yourself you will get through even if you **** it dont worry it is first a introduction with every one then a group discussion then a problem solving then a 20 mins one to one interview that is it rocket science you are in have fun ;)

Group exercises are fun - I have seen people fail though. They tend to be the ********* who dominate the proceedings and then leave the hard work of clearing up they're mess to the others at the last minute!
Be yourself - Don't over think it - you're more than likely to get in.

There seems to be some information about the oxford selection day at:
http://www.pprune.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=184244&perpage=15&pagenumber=4.
I guess it will be a similar format to this.

Did the selection myself about 2 years ago. Nothing to worry about as long as you're not too overbearing or too withdrawn.

These Airline recruiters are so hung up on team players, a
wannabees best bet is to join as much team sports as they can.
