There's fractionals, for instance. Corporate flight departments. Even private individuals with the cash to buy their own airplanes. In the U.S. these make up a healthy - and growing - segment of aviation and provide a whole lot of pilots with employment.

What about the Far East? Surely the same economic and geographic realities that encourage the growth of non-airline aviation in North America are at work in Asia.

Anybody know anything about this? How long will it be before there's a NetJets Asia or Shanghai businessmen shuttling to Tokyo in their Learjets?

Asian sky is not yet open to the fractional / private jets and even more as most asians do want to flash wealth a private jet, luxcury car is seen this way.

Yes they will come soon enough but still a while.
