Heard that 40 flying school graduates have started with Air Asia on the 737. Are they all to be trained in KL, or are some going overseas for training?

I honestly doubt that AA would train 40 cadets on the 737's since they would be phased out eventually & especially with the A320's due by year end.Are there already 40 trained AA cadets?

Seventeen.
The first cadet pilot course of about 17 cadets are now in CBT groundschool for the 737. This will be the last 737 course. The other courses will go to the Airbus. There is another course still at flying school if I am not mistaken.

QNH 1013 many thanks for the information. This is good news for a private candidate. Was under the impression that the cadets are all inline for the A320 course when they do arrive.
Any idea when AA would hire for their A320?Despite all that is being said about AA it is perhaps the best place to garner one's experience.Cheers........

No more intake for cadet pilots this year. Perhaps next year I hear. AA is still short of 2 aircraft with a little excess crew at the moment. However that will change once any more 737's and the new Airbus arrives by the end of the year.
Yes, it's good flying experience with Air Asia in many ways.

from what i gather, expect intake for A320 by the end of this year to the somewhere next year. (private frozen ATPL holders).
