Hi guys!!

I'm juz rather curious abt watching d SQ planes doing touch and go's from my place every now and then. I was wondering maybe it's circuit training for d new guys.I'm not quite sure abt that though.Apart from that,I'm also kinda curious abt flight testing being done in SQ as soon as the aircraft has completed their maintenance checks.Does the chief pilot carry out the test duties or is it assigned to any other flight crews?

Hopefully,u guys can help me with this.Realli appreciate it guys :D
Thanx!!

It was the policy for all fleets to do 6 circuits after the Simulator endorsement before being taken on line training.

They included Auto land, engine "failure" (ie pulled back to idle) and at least one missed approach.

Some companies do not do this as all the Level "D" Sims are in theory "zero flight time" for the purposes of the endorsement.

As for "test flights" it depends what the "test" is for at the time, usually by the Senior pilots although I was involved in one for a minor system check after non scheduled maintainence.

Best left to the "experts" IMHO after suitable training

A word of caution, when dealing with SIA suggest you don't use any of this funny abbreviated SMS stuff. If you get employed, from Day 1, you will be expected to have a good command of the English language, in full - may be you should practice it here too, just to be sure you are ready?:ok:

One thing is for sure, SIA won't employ any lazy people, they don't need to!;)

Hi guys!!

Sorry about using the sms-talk.I respect your views,BlueEagle,on not using sms-speak as it might cultivate a bad habit which in turn wouldn't help me in anyway too if I want to sign up for SIA.

However,as a forum,I believe that we should more or less give and take as it is meant to be an informal means of communication among us aviation professionals/enthusiasts.I understand there's also no point in pushing this matter further as it is of no relevance.Hence,I've accepted your suggestions and I will comply.

For the time being BlueEagle, you've gotta chill bro!! :P

It did look pretty Stupid though, Vibes - and as there is no time constraint typing a message here (versus real-time chat) was there REALLY a need for it?

You last post is a BIG improvement.
Onya...go4it
