View Full Version : Birmingham Based GV Operator - Chief Pilot and Son Flying Team?
Have you seen this Flight Safety ad describing this 20-something year old pilot who is now flying a GV with his pappy the Chief Pilot? Is this really the case? Anyone know which operator this is?
Can I marry into this family to get a GV job? Can anyone give me the scoop (you can PM me if you like)?
Cheers

This EGBB based Gulfy is rumoured to being replaced by something bigger soon, both the Embraer 135 Legacy & the BBJ have been rumoured

Oooh no, the kid's GV training has gone to waste!!!!! What a shame for him (I hear the GV is great to fly). Flight Safety will need to change its ad.
I have heard operators in the States who have replaced Gulfstreams with Legacies have been disappointed big time. BBJ would be nice but not very practical if you need operational flexibility (use shorter strips).
Any more detail on the likely replacement aircraft?

Any more detail on the likely replacement aircraft?
Looks likely to be a BBJ (not sure if a B737-700 or -800 variant)

Legacy is a great F2000 replacement when you stay in Europe only. Never a G-IV or G-V replacement!

If you replace a G5 with a legacy probably either your needs have changed or you spent a hill of money on the wrong aircraft in the first place.

This operator has a very high turnover of crew on the G5 including me! Do your homework before considering a move, it could cost you, as it did me.

And me! 2 and half years on a high utilisation GV did me some good, if you can put up with him, not everyone can. Some people are scarred for life! nnnnot mmmmmeee!!!
