Just found out that bombardier had their european launch of their new c-series today. With 4 types on offer the 110, 130 and 110er and 130er. Looks like an impressive aircraft with side stick, fbw and composite construction. Looks like serious competition to many regional aircraft on offer at the moment (eg A318/319, embraer 190/195). Bombardier see a market for over 6000 regional jets up to 2025. first flight around 2008, and entry into service around 2010.

uhmmm. Why's this been moved to Bizjets and GA. Ok maybe shouldn't be in rumours, but definitively not in bizjets either seeing as the c-series is going to be an airliner. can one of the friendly mods move it to the right forum please??

Cheerso
:ok:

(15May05) - On the orders yahoogroup it's rumoured that the 2nd gen IAE powerplant is in the lead with CFM not interested and PW not offering PW6000 and supporting the IAE engine instead.

Have to agree it's in the wrong forum but there isn't really one that fits. Given their numbers, different avionics, manufacturers, crewing (generally), operations and wages & conditions, shouldn't there be a specific Regional Aircraft forum? After all there's industry councils for Regionals on both sides of the pond why not a forum?
