We would like to operate an Antonov 2 on floats and/or wheels in Mongolia.
I would love any suggestions or comments.
Thx 10/6 Jimme

Hallo there
Go to Canada or Alaska and see what they have there. If aircraft that were originally landplanes, such as the Beaver and C208, can be modified, then there shouldn't be any practical problem doing it to an AN-2. Apart from the drag of two pairs of wings(?). How you'd get it certified, I don't know. Does the Mongolian CAA allow Supplemental Type Certification, as in the USA? was the AN-2 ever approved for floats by the original manufacturer? Apart from that, why not convert it to an AN-3, with the Glushenkov turboprop?
regards and best of luck

Check this out:
An-2W - General-purpose and maritime patrol floatplane with twin underwing floats (1951). Produced after 1962 in Poland under the designation An-4.
An-2L - Floatplane designated for fire fighting. (1964)
An-2PP - Firefighting seaplane version with floats fitted with special scoops capable of uplifting 630 litres of water in each float (1961).
That for the float plane version and here's a link:

Have you tried asking Mark Jeffries? He's not short on knowledge about eastern block aircraft and may have some helpful comments.
