Just inquiring if anyone has gotten a call for Second Officer interviews in SYD for November.I believe there is a freeze in recruitment at CX but they are still interviewing prospective applicants (20,000 on file since Sep 11).

Min, there is a constant "rotating" applicant base of about 5000, many of whom are either underqualified, not qualified, too old, too inexperienced, no experience, chancers, con artists, type collectors or just plain wannabees. "Real" resumes? perhaps a quarter of that.
There has been little appreciable change since the tragedy on Sept 11, perhaps 5% more, no more than that.
Whoever told you 20,000 since Sept 11 is seeing double, sorry triple, no I mean has had one too many G&T's.
There is a hiring freeze, but the suitable applicant base will be built up while the conditions are static here. In fact, there have been a number of aircraft taken out of service so the numbers of new hires required are NIL.
