I'm looking for a photo of TriStar VR-HOF in CX livery. This is the aeroplane that was parted out and scrapped at Avalon back in 1995. I need the photo for my website "The Lockheed File". Any help much appreciated.

Go to www.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!/search/photo.search. (http://www.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!/search/photo.search.)
Lots of Cathay L1011s but unfortunately, none of VR-HOF.

Martin Willing (Ex CX Captain) seriously up to speed on CX history. He may be able to help. Regret no contact but he lives in Jersey or Guernsey and I imagine not too many M Willing's in the 'phone book?

I helped strip it before it was scrapped so I can pass on some photos prior to and during stripping.
I've got the center console with thrust levers, speed brake and flap lever in my garage plus a nice hub cap.

Those Hubcaps make a nice clock if you cut away the sensor from the middle!!!

Fris B Fairing, I'm a bit disappointed in your picture showing Air Canada Tristar which wasn't VR-HOF prior to it's acquisition by CX. I have a total of 2212 hours on the L1011 although never operated VR-HOF, as I had transfered onto the B747 fleet before HOF arrived in Hong Kong. You should have shown a Tristar in Cathay livery.
Check out www.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!/open.file?id=115607. (http://www.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!/open.file?id=115607.) Regards, HD.

HotDog,
I'm a bit disappointed too. That's why I'm asking for a photo of VR-HOF in CX livery!
It's my understanding that VR-HOF was previously C-FTNE with Air Canada. If you have information to the contrary I would be very interested in your sources. The image you referred me to is indeed a lovely shot of a CX TriStar but unfortunately it's HOE. Not to worry. Thanks to the excellent response I have received from this posting, I expect to be able to add several images of HOF in the near future. Cheers.
