Anyone got some information regarding a China Airlines 747 entered one of the runway in VHHH without permission a few days ago??

It was in conflict with a MD-90.

Already been investigated in the SCMP - nothing had fallen from a building that day.

IGS, You need to get a life, or at least wake up and smell the coffe, now you are trying to find out information about "incident" from SCMP.... That would be like asking China to chair UN's "Humans Right Comission"...

JL, I have to say,
"get a life" & "wake up and smell the coffee"
are similarly overworked terms of facile abuse as: "nazi", "racist", "bigot", "duh" etc etc.
So there! :)

IGS,

I don't know what the link is but the site is http://www.scmp.com/ - I think they charge a stupid amount for past articles - so I never use them.but it should be available on line.

From Avweb.com

A major disaster was avoided as an airliner made a wrong turn onto a runway at Hong Kong's Chep Lap Kok airport, according to Japan Today. On May 23, a Boeing 747 took a wrong turn while taxiing and forced an MD-90 to abort its takeoff roll. Apparently, controllers saw the accident sequence begin to unfold when they noticed the 747 passing the runway's hold-short line and told the MD-90 to abort. The jumbo jet stopped on the runway exit, but was not actually on the runway. After aborting its takeoff and vacating the runway around the midpoint area, the MD-90 crew taxied the airliner back and resumed their departure. The Civil Aviation Department (CAD) has written to the officially undisclosed airline that operates the 747 and has requested a reason for the aircrew's wrong turn. Neither the paper nor the CAD has identified either of the airlines involved, but a local newspaper has identified the MD-90 as a China Eastern aircraft and the 747 as a China Airlines flight bound for Bangkok.

Thanks for the link 1-stripper.

It sounds ridiculous but one of the Chinese newspaper reported that the MD-90 was actually airborne at 600 feet and then it back to the ground after it was told to abort the take-off.

I guess (once again) we should never trust the newspaper!!
