Just a quick thankyou to all you Guys & Gals that helped our "Live Heart" flight from Humberside into LHR at 1930ish on Wed evening (AAG166). Bent round and under the LAM stack high speed no-delay straight onto 27L and off at Block 83 (showing my age!) onto the royal suite....Fantastic. It's what we come to expect from you guys but we never take it for granted..thanks!!
P.S. Ops had another transplant trip for us as soon as we arrived on blocks, so a few quick calls and there we were... priority off 27R SVFR (hope you liked the "wheels-up" after the Air Malta) "battle climb" through 1000ft - above the wake - and early right turn to get out of your hair....
Thanks again.
Oops sorry guys posted on the wrong forum ....should be ATC - too many late nights heigh-ho!!

Didnt know you could do a battle climb in a 404/406?
How comes we never get that when we go in there on a medivac. Was you airways from HUY or outside CTA.
Cheers

I believe the flight was operated by Atlantics Citation 500

I missed that then. Good to see the airport being host to such an important flight

It was (and always is) a pleasure to visit Humberside. When we arrived the terminal was deserted and most things including the restaurant (horrors-late call out and no supper!!) was closed. However the very kind restaurant man, seeing two grown men weeping (never fails that one!), fired up his kitchen and made us egg and chips - now how many places would do that these days?
We were delayed by the "heart in the box" of course (usually are) and the very nice ODM respactfully advised us that should we delay past 2015, there would be "extension charges". There was a Fish Flight (or something) that was in later and they were staying open for anyway so I'm not sure why we would have had to pay....?
We were out of ther very quickly and efficiently (delivery ambulance onto the apron and straight to the aircraft No.2 engine already running etc) London Mil handover to London TMA and straight in. We did advise all agencies that we had a "live heart on board" but they seemed to know already.
It was a Citation (bh and FC) and we are good for an initial 4000 ft / min when light (4ft / min at MTOW!) I think that the controllers really appreciate how flexible we can be in their airspace when we try. I always advise them if we have high performance availlable and usually get taken up on the offer for expedited climb with a thank-you afterwards.
