Is it true that MAS is proposing a 50% payrise for the pilots due to the leakage to Middle East or is it just another rumour? Can anyone share what is the current T & C on the widebodies in MAS?
Cheers

Let's start the ball rolling.....
1 Let's do LOW DRAG APP everytime,go low early configure her and drag her in......the extra fuel burn is the bonus that you didnt get
2 Do not go optimum level if wx and fuel at dest permit
3 Do not accept direct to waypoint...tell ATC you want to stick to flt pln
4 Do not carry out visual app or radar vectors for short finals, stick to the STAR
5 Dont bother with switching the pack to LOW or cargo heat to off
Any other ideas to get our overdue BONUS?Please tell

Kapiton_2,
It should be "TRUE" that we are getting 50% pay rise. I am "sure" that toady will "convince" management that we deserve this pay rise. He promised during one morning meeting prior to him jumping ship that he would look after MAPA's interest whilst firmly embedded in management. Toady, if you are a man of your words, deliver...
In reality, we'd get probably much less than that and we have a "liar liar" as a leader in flt ops. Further more his standing amongst other MAS management isn't that good and in private is riduculed and laughed at. Sad state of affairs. I recently heard several stories while overseas and am embaressed that he is our leader. :(
Meanwhile, other airlines are growing and recruiting pilots with relative ease. EY is buying 5 777s with many more on option and CAL will shortly officially announce plans to buy 15 777-300 ER with options for 15 more. KAL is also opening up with expat recruitment in a few months. Another area with good prospect is Qatar. WATC (World's Airlines Training Centre), which is the other name MAS is known as will be kept busy churning out the numbers..:)
Some of former MAS FO's in EY will go for command training soon (this will nicely complement the Mercs that they are driving), and those in CAL already indentified and programmed for command (starting with position of GTI's - ground training instructors). :D
Open your eyes guys. If you want money, work for other airlines. Whilst flying like SQ 7700 suggest is flying under protest and can be fun, it'll only hurt the company more and inturn will backfire. The cost of operations (thanks to the higher fuel comsumption) will go up, our profits will dive, and company will then be forced to cut cost. And with "brainy" leaders like toady, cut cost means cut pilots pay (or delay salary reviews) and their benefits. This has been done to us before, and sadly with little protest from MAPA.
Sad state of affairs, but these are MAS (Most Are Sad) pilots and their predicaments. If you read history, you'll find that people who suffer leave their place of suffering to find joy elsewhere.
I hope we get 50%. Happy landings...:{

We got our 27% with some cruel methods during the last MoU, what's the difference now.....? 50% maybe a bit too steep for them to even consider...but between 25 - 30 % sounds more like a reasonable figure to them BUT not to US! No matter what the figure is I'm sure the OPTIONS out there are much more appealing! :ok:

Heard that the chairman, MD and a few other top flight operations post in MAS is now up for grabs. Apparently the whole bunch got the sack.........can anyone in MAS confirm?

Rumours are rife about the impending departure of the MD and his bunch of cohorts. Not surprising if they should be removed considering the state of affairs in MAS.
But will the next bunch continue to be clowns in this circus?

Speedtwoten,
I cannot be 100% sure as the story about the openings was mentioned to me whilst we were both inflight (on 123.45 when we passed each other somewhere over eastern europe) about a month ago. He and I were from the same flag carrier before. After we traded info on weather and ride, I ask about openings and he mentioned that there might be some.
It's widebody openings, -400, 777 and 330. More on -400s I was told.
This guy was formerly wth BiUSA and is now with a new agent (sorry I dont know the new agent). Also sorry that I am not able to lead you KAL website. Hearing horror stories about KAL, I dare not venture into their website.
Best to keep your eyes of Flight International.
Happy landings. :ok:

About THE departure, well, only time will tell I guess. It\'ll be a great valentine day\'s gift if this thing turned out to be true. :D
Take care now.:ok:

A lot of people get shafted on valentine's day.
We're all hoping it won't be the MAS pilots' turn.

Sometime back I heard that the PM (or at least his rep) was to meet with the heads of the various unions in MAS. Anybody know the outcome of the meeting between MAPA and PM/Rep. ?
Was it as a result of the meeting that the story that MD and his team are to be replaced?
In my 27 years with MAS this is what I observed. Everytime a management person screws up, he's eventually, in the new reshuffle promoted. Everytime before a negotiation and a new deal is concluded, management rewards themselves with promotions or new cars. Remember the 4 EVPs position/cars during TR's time and now new cars for GMs and SGMs even before this new T & C with MAPA and other union is concluded.
I would think that the right thing to do was to conclude all negotiation and then reward everybody. But then, when has management done the right thing for us?
Frustrations galore! :{

Shintaro9,
I really don`t know weather to admire your 27 year dedication or to simply laugh. After all these years of continued B/S from MAS you still wana stick around. Not sure if you are a local, I am and could not stand it. It`s been 8 years since I took a hike & I still see nothing has changed back home. Home, now that’s a word that still brings a sparkle to my eyes. However, the thought of working for MAS only conjures unpleasantness. An excellent company, but run by idiots & chorines. Yes,when they screw up, they get a promotion. I guess that`s a failsafe method up the corporate larder. As long this practice is in place , the decline will continue. If you are expecting management to do anything positive, you`re really shooting for the stars. Why should anything change, it`s the practice of the BOLEHLAND!!!

MASsenger,
Anybody who works more than 5 years in MAS sould be admired, not so much for the dedication, but the nonsense that they have to put up with. Rightly so, it can be established that working for MAS is no longer fun or beneficial.
And it's disappointing when it comes to management pilots. They are there to look after pilot's interest in the first place, but instead they get caught up in the politics and ladder climbing, most of them did not deliver anything for the pilots. I feel that they have betrayed the profession and have forgotten that they are still before they became management, a pilot. Such a letdown. I use to have respect and admiration for these people, but not anymore.
President MAPA crossed the line and joined management (without cooling period even) to become SGM Flt Ops, saying that he'll look after pilots interests from the inside. Well...please deliver.
I have given up on getting anything positive out of Flt Ops and MAS. I now look after myself and my own interest only.
Waiting for information on the meeting between MAPA and PM/Rep cos I heard some interesting people might be removed. :E
Best regards and happy landings. :ok:

What's the word for doing the same thing over and over, and expecting a different outcome again??? (When I remember..)
Speaking for myself, anyone who puts up with nonsense should not be admired. Someone who admires that belongs somewhere else. On all fours.
Am I nutty??

:ok: Yes indeed, just to show to MAS management that their Pilots are valuable and capable yet not appreciated by the management.

Yes, he got the job. Talked to him a few days ago. He's settling in real well.
A few more pilots (some are IPs and AEs) of similar calibre are following him as are a few very very good copilots.
It would appear that prospects are better elsewhere except with MAS.
Good luck to all joining EY. :D

Good for him. I heard of a few SQ F/O guys who wanted to leave too and maybe get an early w/body command....
