Heard this off some chap in EY ( as well as the website ) that they're recruiting 77s drivers and operational by OCT '05. More MH's A330 and B777 drivers are looking that way.....or even might have been accepted to man the 77s....:ok:
P.s The Pigmy and his round table knights still feel unthreaten...

The toad and his tadpoles dont seem to give two hoots about flight ops...all they are doing are patching the holes and not getting to the root of the problem...which is of course the toad himself:yuk:

Heard it thru the grapevine (both HR and Flt Ops), that MAS was considering to take back the pilots who want to return and work for MAS again due to shortage.
Some of the reasons some pilots want to return are that they've made their pile, kids completed overseas education, divorced wife just married a millionaire, fully recovered from 97 financial crisis, miss MAS satay and those serving them, running away from overseas affair, TR no longer running the airline, toady might be given a government post and so on.
Then the MD gave instructions not to take the pilots back. His logic, if you start taking pilots back, more will go. So if more go and less return, we'll be forever short he says.
How about this logic Boss? If you make MAS a nice place to work and pay people the salary they are looking for (after all it's reasonable), wouldnt you think that more will stay, more will come back, and everybody 'll be happy? Why dont you let market forces dictate? Those who want to go can go, those who want to come back, can.
Heard also that pilots (especially 737s) are busting their monthly and yearly limits. Where's the DCA? What are their inspectors doing? How are they going to explain that an accident has has just happened and both pilots have busted their hours limits?
Also, EY is not the only airline buying 777s. Latest rumour, CAL also buying 777 ER. How now MD?

Satumare...
If not true, home come MAS FM 777 applied for EY job?
He's been telling people that he has been approached by EY to set up the fleet as he has the "expertise".
If you fly DXB route, haven't you noticed the number of pilots going on annual "leave/holiday" there? MAS should mount AUH routes soon as there is going to be a lot of traffic on this route soon.
Cheers! :p

Any truth to the rumours about MAS being forced to take expat DECs as a result. Ironic indeed if true.
Good luck to all MAS guys spreading your wings a bit. We all deserve to get value for our skills. Your aircraft qualifications are outstanding with the 330, 777 and -400. Must be a lot of "head-in-the-sand" mentality in MAS management to expect guys to stay when the salaries are much better elsewhere.

The only truth about this whole thing is with the number of pilots leaving ( not even 10% of the total ) the company/toadee still think it won't affect the operations...but he/it fails to realise that the no. of remaining pilots will and have busted their hours just to cover the shortage has reached to an alarming stage! Not to mention as of March onwards when more 77s guys start packing and sending their resignations in....., then that'll be a bit too late to realise what actually hit them!

Just seen the advert in FI, do they want type rated guys only. How many 777 rated people are there looking for jobs, not many I guess?

Pin Head,
Don't even border to apply! Why? The pay is way too low for a start. Even if they are willing to throw you a 777 rating, they will bond you to the company and you will be trapped with a low pay for a few years. They work thier expat to the max legal limit,no leave will be approved(logicaly because of the shortage of pilots, why do you think they want to hire expat in the first place?)and the management is playing games with the staff all the time. Don't expect to get a seat to your home even you get your leave.
Go somewhere else for you life sake!

Pinhead,
MAS has not promoted any of their expats on the B737 to widebody for almost more than 5 years. If you join, maybe you will get B737 and waiting donkey years .......
....or you have to be B742 rated cos thats where they will put the long serving expats.
Also heard a rumour that they are selling that soon.
