Just a thought everyone but why don't we refrain from making any more posts on this forum or any other about CPA while we approach this decisive time.
We are professionals and we have to be seen to be behaving so.
It will be really frustrating for management , S.O.G. and the like if there is nothing to read or comment on. We can survive without this media for the present. Once the present problems have been solved then I personally think we should go to a private forum, so that only WE can comment on anything to do with our company.
The main rumour site should cater for our general comments.
Just a thought! and my last post or visit for a couple of months.

Keep smiling!!!!

You don't have to do EVERYTHING that Nigel suggests. I for one like to let off steam here and see no great problem with what is posted. Don't forget the golden rule that it is an ANONYMOUS forum and anyone from "outside" of CX can say they are "inside" so what's the point.
Just don't let all our secrets out. I've been to a forum night and Nigel wouldn't tell us any secret plans anyway!
it puzzles me why newspapers have so far fallen short of bringing to the attention of the public the imminence, or at least the probability, of disruptions ahead.

Guru.....look at the obvious. This is actually a good sign. A friend in the press here in HK tells me that the Swires have been calling in every favour they can to ensure that nothing is said in the press (so much for a free press in HK..). The good thing about this is that it shows that they are sh-t scared, and are taking the threat seriously. I can tell you that between now and July 1, we will be inundated with propoganda, threats and all manner of intimidation. It is time to stand up to this management and their utter failure to treat us properly. If we don't stand up to them....it will be a green light to intensify their efforts to completely devalue our careers. In other words, this is the real thing...and we don't have a choice other than to stand up to them. The management have pushed us to this point through their arrogance and stupidity. The ONLY way ahead for us is to cripple this operation. The HK government is on record as having warned the Swires that a shutdown of CX will not be allowed. If our threat is credible, the Government will force the Swires to settle at the 11th hour. Remember, WE didn't create this situation, and WE have no choice but to stand up to this tyranny. Basically, I personally don't care anymore, and look forward to seeing rows of parked jets. Bring on July 1.
All CX management has to do is terminate a few high profile guys and the "action" will fold like a house of cards. Count the number of troublemakers on one hand I would expect, and say "goodbye" to these. All the rest would be too scared of their positions to provide a threat. They really have no backbone. Now, if you were represented by ALPA, then it would be different.

.....ooohhhhhh, i'm sooooo scared....!!! Couldn't care less if they try to fire ALL of us. Wonder why they didn't do so in 99...?? The reason is....they CAN'T. If you aren't fit to fly, then you have a LEGAL responsibility to book off. You don't even need a note from a doctor for 3 days or less. The company has NO WAY to determine those who really are or are not sick. THAT is WHY they are so desperate to find a way to combat the threat of mass sickness. Needless to say....there isn't a hope that they can aviod hundreds of us not turning up for work in the coming weeks. The threats, intimidation and general boorish behaviour of our management is something we are no longer concerned about. We are ALL thouroughly sick of the way we have been treated, and we are ready to show just how fed-up we are. As the AOA has stated, ANY officer who is fired will have to be reinstated before ANY settlement is reached. In the meantime that officers salary will be covered by the AOA. More to the point, the company can't fire anyone who calls in sick. Remember, in 99 there was concern that they would fire dozens of us. How many did they fire.....ZERO......why, because they COULDN'T. The threats don't work anymore......either from the company, or the small minded individuals on this forum. Roll on July 1.
