The FAA is proposing some operating limitations in known icing, for the Caravan.

Have a look at www.caravanpilots.com the pilots discussion board, you will note that many of the FAA proposed recomendations are already in use by the majority or responsible operators......where the C208 gets into trouble is when pilots push the a/c beyond what it was designed to do...yep its certified into known icing....but no its not certified into freezing Drizzel, moderate icing (continuous), or freezing rain. The safety margins on the C208 are there.....its when you push these or exceed them through misadventure..but more often poor airmanship/decision making, accidents occur.
