Hi there, assessing two types at the moment for an operator, the citation ultra/encore and lear 45. Would like to know operating economics of the types. Here is what I do know, please let me know if I've made a mistake:

Encore: better short field performance
cheaper acquisition
lower fuel burn (but slower cruise)

Lear 45: Flat rated engines
Higher fuel burn but faster
Maintenance diagnostics
More room for pax

It'll typically be a 1000nm sector and field performance is not an issue.

I'm especially interested to hear from operators about operating costs for both types.

Thanks for your help.
