Hi everyone
I am completing my Malaysian PPL soon & plan to continue with my CPL/ME/IR IN PHILIPPINES due to cost & distance reasons.
Anyone knows the quality of training & instructing there ?
Any comments, ideas, criticisms, suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I did a couple of flight training there 10 years ago and I wasn't very happy about it. Let me start with the airplanes, I trained with C152's that was maintained with drunk mechanics that use duck tapes. When I went for my cross country training the airplane was loaded to the max because we had to carry our own fuel. You can not get fuel in any small airports. But it is so easy to navigate because you can only go either north or south and you can easily identify the islands.
Here's the shocker: My instructor told me that I can get my PPL license for $200 without doing actual flight training. I was out of there so quick after that.
If you really have to do it there, I suggest PAL flight school because it is run by the major airline and they have good and honest instructors and the maintenance is so much better compare to other flight schools there.
Good luck

Hi Medwin
Thanks for sharing your insightful experience with everyone here.
A few questions:
1) Where did you go for flite training after your experience in the
Philippines ?
One final request, can you PM me the name or location of that sch you went to (just for knowledge purposes). I hope they're not on the Internet or have cleaned up their act since then.
