Hi folks,
since I've never been there, but will be there in a few weeks for a recurrent, a few questions:
Does anybody know how far it is from there to get some food (Wichita is terrible- without car you are in a deep !!!! there!), any hotels you can recommend?
Anything else to do there- my first idea is to visit Kermit Weeks museum if I will have the time?
Happy landings!

Yes, Kermit Weeks' 'Fantasy of Flight' is an absolute must.
But also take time out to go to the Kennedy Spaceflight Centre. Check out their site before you go to see if there's a launch from down the line, though there won't be a manned launch until at least next May. Worth the trip just to wander around under the mighty Saturn V.
We went back specially to catch a night Delta II launch. They kept the visitor centre open and there was a lecture prior to the launch and a running commentary during. Awesome! It's about an hour and a half drive depending upon where you're staying around Orlando.
Enjoy,

Definetely need a car in Orlando as well,
Have been there for maintenance, the place is great!!!
Near the airport/Flight Safety, various restaurants, such as Friday's, Denny', Bobby Rubino's... You get the idea,
That would be on Semoran Blvd, which runs N/S from the Airport, Then, on Sand Lake, westbound (Runs E/W passing just north of McCoy) you can find nice restaurant chains as well.
A favorite of mine is Houston's, this one a bit pricey, but well worth it; it's to the north of the city, abou 25-30min from Flight Safety, 215 S. Orlando Ave, Winter Park (also known as 17/92, north of Colonial Drive)
If you're in for Park stuff, don't miss the Circ du Soleil, Downtown Disney, also nice restaurants and scenery there.
Hope this helps, good luck in your training!!!
