Do not worry, Langkawi Aerospace Training Centre is ready to open within few days. The fully new TB10 have been reassemblied in Subang (coming in containers), the FNPT II is on the way, the accomodations are fully ready...The swimming pool is also ready...apparently DCA is happy through the various inspections.... The airline you are applying to is going to control everything in 4 days. Then everything will go quickly, I will be happy to meet you very soon.

Unfortunately I am too old to be a candidate, I have 30 years of experience in Civil Aviation and some hairs are missing... I expect to welcome you soon in Langkawi.

The coming week, MAS and AA are inspecting LATC.
If we write something on this site about LATC it can be interpreted as Advertising and censored, I will just answer to your questions:
I can just say that the facilities are ready, accomodations also, the ground school is ready. Our first aircraft are arriving. Two are visible in Subang.
The school comprises the former four star hotel Singhasana and the adjacent KUB technical university. The Hostel of the University has been refurbished for half the capacity (Air conditioning, carpeting, painting, toilets renovated...) Two possibilities of accomodations: the 69 bedrooms of Singhasana or the 54 bedrooms of the hostel (very large rooms 2 cadets per room). the swimming pool is small, has been cleaned. but you walk 100m and you are on wonderful beach.
The class rooms are fully equipped, with computer and LCD projector in each class room. Overhead projectors , direct projector and slide projector are also available. A real library where the students will find books and magazine and computers. (Different from the Ground school storage of books that we name the "resource room").
On the Flying side, the operation room is "Airlines Style". You have also a large planning room for preparing the navigations, several large cubicles for briefing, a simulator room which will receive the first ALSIM Diamond 42 FNPT II -in the world- (We are the first customer for the DA42 FNPT II) with 180 degrees visual.
The DA 42 is the glass cockpit diesel twin engine - the most advanced in the world- that we plan to get in our fleet ASAP.
Our facilities are not yet used to their maximum extent ( After renovation, we can easily get 10 class rooms, we can double the number of hostel bedrooms - up to 300 students! We are not using an amphitheatre of 350 places...)
At 800m, on the airport we have an aviation Hangar which has been built for receiving commuter aircrafts....
The cafetaria is the coffee shop of the former Singhasana hotel...
In its mission LATC has been defined for preparing the cadets not only to pass through examinations but also to prepare them to their futur airline job. The team has been instructed to raise the level of LATC as quickly as possible to a reputable worldwide standard, "LATC must be the pryde of Malaysia " it is a strong engagement...Making money is not the only and main priority ....
Are you satisfied by this description?

OK Ladies and Gentlemen, on that happy note, (which is only a hairs breadth away from free advertising!), I am closing this thread. Feel free to continue open discussion about LATC etc. but without the 'banners and lights'! :ok:
