Anyone have info on a startup called Skybus Airlines in KCMH ? Saw some scuttlebutt about a new airline but couldn't get any details.
My memory is pretty dim on this one, but I seem to remember this name with rumors about serving an outlying airport in ATL several years ago. Never got any where.
Now the name has reappeared but in KCMH.

Not a lot out there. But here are a couple of links to press releases and info about them... It looks like the guy trying to start it is Weikle. He was at Abex, them tried to come up with the money for Heartland (which never got off the ground after raising $41 million). Sounds fishy to me....

I have been told that one of the Assistant Chief Pilots at my carrier, US Airways, has left for a management position there. I am not aware if the airline has an operating certificate yet.

grey,
Interesting. Corresponded with a guy on flightinfo.com who said his buddy had an interview coming up with Skybus. He didn't seem to have any specific info. If they're holding interviews, they must be doing something, huh ?

grey,
Speaking of USAir Asst. CP's who left, a guy named Joe Houghton is a wheel at Virgin America. His bio on their website said he was at USAir for 18 years. Could this be the guy you referred to ?
It would be a real coincidence that two of your Asst. CP's bailed to go with startups, or maybe they were just furloughed.

Skybus guy is Chris Grazel. He retired early (very) and I believe Houghton was too senior to be furloughed.
