I was asked late last night to plan a trip Cairo-Cyprus-Tel Aviv------Joburg. and return.....N reg G4.
Am I right in thinking that direct flights from Israel to South Africa are still not permitted.
We needed tech stop in Mid Africa anyway, would this count as a NON direct flight, or still not permitted.
ps trip canx................ tooooo expensive.....
I wonder how many hours before i get reply from the man who knows everything.....Bumz.

Good evening Bumz.
Did you try there?

Also for Sudan:
Corporate Aircraft Constraints
Cabotage permitted only for "work-related" passengers. Flights listing South Africa or Israel as points of origin, transit, or termination are prohibited. All flight clearance requests must be processed through an agent in the Sudan. The U.S. Embassy in Khartoum lists the following agents:
a. Mr. Mahmoud Tewfik, General Aviation Services, P.O. Box 1354, Khartoum, Sudan (Telex: 22602, 22303).
b. Mr. Mirhgani Mohamed Nour, Sudanese Aeronautical Services Co., P.O. Box 8260, Khartoum, Sudan (Telex: 20048).
c. Nur Aviation Services, Box 8260, Khartoum, Sudan (Telex: 22048).

Thanks FLEX, I quoted my man that direct travel was not possible, and a stop in Cyprus would work.
We also suspected a refuel stop, (in a G4), en route, south of Sudan...
I do not have the Diplo clearance book, to hand.
Trip canx anyway.
regards,
Bumz...

No problem, just stop off in Jordan, Queen Alia......10 mins at 7000 ft. then lob back in to Tel Aviv......remember to call 118.8 the defence freqiency before attempting to enter Israel.
No need to go via Larnica....
I learned about flying from that....Bumz

Hi!
Excuse me for being gossip where I have no business but... why is there such a restriction?
Are there any other countries that cann't be connected directly both for FAA and JAA?
Thanks for your replies!

The problem is political.
Israel is not a "friend" to most Arab states. Jordan and Eqypt have good relations. I could not find this method of transit in any CAA type documents. It was only local knowledge.
Flex will correct me...I am sure....
