Shaheen Air International set up by Shaheen foundation an enterprise catering to ex-Air Force personnel has been sold off to a Canadian company called Tava International, however the foundation will continue to retain a minor stake in the airline.

NL was set up in the early 90's when the govt. allowed private airlines to oeprate in the country, initailly they started with a few 732's on domestic routes, later on they launched international services with an A300, at present they operate the Tu154 and Yak42 to four domestic points and international services to the Gulf states of Oman, UAE, Qatar and Kuwait.
