Looking for a friendly place/country where I could harbor when the age will come. I still have about 15 years of work - Part 121 - if the economy/job market helps.
After 2 divorces and bad economic decisions(got me broke) I have 15 years left to decide where I could retire - thank God still having a job.
In US is hard to live in retirement income. Property taxes are higher than the income. So, I'm looking to buy a house anywhere in the world where no killer property/Social Security taxes. Decent life with not too much money.
Many thanks for any inputs, experiences.

Take a look at this PPRuNe forum: Open Skies - Life after aviation (http://www.pprune.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&forumid=97)

You might find what you are looking for.

You may want to take a good, long hard look at retirement in Australia (http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/temp_retire.htm) and not just the major cities either, we live in a fairly rural part only 100kms from the Melbourne CBD in Victoria and it is paradise.

Couldn't agree more. I spent a year in Oz with Qantas on secondment from another airline back in 85, as well as numerous 3 month postings in SYD. We all had a great time and I will consider a partial retirement there myself - I just need to work on the Mrs who thinks Calais is a long way from home.

How about the tax situation?
