Moving from full-time pilot to full-time sim instructor

Anyone willing to share their experiences from transitioning from a flight crew role to a full-time SFI (sim instructor) role?

Possible opportunity in future for me to do this and interested in hearing if anyone has done similar. If you're wondering, I still hold a medical and have many years left in my career. Have had experience in a SFI/TRI/examiner role but this was as an additional duty within my company.

Thankyou,
DS

I did it when forced to retire at 60. I enjoyed being the weather instead of worrying about the weather. The big factors are do you really love flying or do it because it's your job and do you love teaching. I was ready to hang up my uniform, and I love teaching so I was happy. Most of the guys I worked with felt the same.
