Painful! FTE are always recruiting......
If your are young and single with no family and prepared to immerse yourself in the job, its an OK life. If you have family and don't speak Spanish its purgatory. The Spanish are not overly welcoming of non Spanish speakers and with a 34% unemployment rate there is no work for spouses.

Interesting.
In view of the forthcoming Brexit vote in the UK, I wonder what the future would hold for UK nationals employed as flight instructors in Jerez should the UK leave the EU?
What are your thoughts bose-x?

It's unlikely to make any difference whatsoever. Just like all the other threats being made around the Brexit.
Now in advance of the following comment, I am an undecided voter on the subject.
Just like all of the Brits based in Spain in bars etc that generate huge incomes for Spain, do you really think the Spanish are daft enough to cut off a revenue stream by booting out the Brits? The reason schools like FTE and us recruit Brits and other non Spanish is there are no Spanish candidates. Would the Spanish government run the risk of shutting down tax paying companies that employ Spanish staff in other capacities by booting out the key staff? Me thinks not.

I must say I have to agree - and had a similar conversation with my wife earlier today.
Likewise, there are so many conflicting points of view regarding the Brexit vote - interestingly, and for once uniquely, you tend to have to agree with the majority of the arguments of both sides which makes the voting so much more difficult.
This is probably why the polls seem to indicate about a quarter of voters are still undecided (me included).
The old Yorkshire adage of 'if in doubt do nowt' isn't going to help on this occasion!

The politicians have adopted the wrong stance in this though, especially the stay IN campaign, attempting to scare people rather than sell the benefits is stupid and I suspect may backfire on them. I suspect for myself it will be a very 11th hour decision although I the more I study the more I find myself agreeing with the out lot.

Brexit: No thx!
I am both a Pilot and an Economist. In my view it would take a long time to renegotiate our trade deals. So in the short term we would be worse off under Brexit. In the long run we would also probably be no better off.
If Scotland and Northern Ireland then decide that they have had enough and vote to leave the UK then we will have a real mess.
