Student Pilot Licence

I am Just back Instructing after a few years, was surprised to learn that the Student Pilot Licence no longer exists under EASA. What are the documentary requirements for Student Solo Flight now? Is it that they must just hold a valid Medical? Thanks

What's the situation with a pre JAR non expiring licence holder with a valid medical but out of validation.
Can a CRI or FI authorise solo flight ?
