Flying Instructors & Examiners A place for instructors to communicate with one another because some of them get a bit tired of the attitude that instructing is the lowest form of aviation, as seems to prevail on some of the other forums!

MEI Course;Glass or steam aircraft?

I am an instructor; I have a lapsed ME rating and want to get an Instructor ME rating; I know how to get my ME re-newed but once re-newed I'm not sure which type of aircraft it's better to do the MEI course on; Any experiences out there?

If your MEP rating has lapsed, then you will be renewing, not revalidating. Correct terminology is important, as I am sure you know if you are an instructor!

If you are used to both glass and steam, then it's sensible to stay with what you know best and concentrate on learning how to teach it. The obvious exception would be if you know what you will be teaching on in the future.
