Unfortunately I dont have a huge budget, I have in the region of £3.5k towards an Flying Instructors rating..

Does anyone know of any where around Europe?

3.5k for 30 hours of flying plus a lot of theory with a well qualified instructor? Unlikely I'm afraid, the going rate is around double your budget.

You might save a bit by doing it somewhere local eg Advanced Flight Training at sherburn.

To be honest by the time you have finished the course you will have missed the summer cash.

So get saving and do the FI course in say March next year. Then get hawking your services next spring/summer.

Get real, we've all had to work hard, we've all had a tight budget at one-time or another....yours unfortunately just about covers the fuel.

You could probably do a Microlight Assistant Flying Instructor course for that amount. As has been said, double it and you will be nearer the mark for a EASA Flight Instructor rating in the UK.

I am sure you may find somewhere in Europe who can match your budget, one candidate did the entire course in 2 days in Spain! But, the chances of working in the UK after such a course is probably very low.

What about 125h of theory though?

Lokki, a school in Czech Republic offer the course for about 5k euro which will fit your budget.Also in Iceland you can get it for about the same price.

Then, once you've done your FI course let's see if you can get a school in the UK to employ you.. If that is where you want to work that is..

You'd be better off financially to do a microlight course too. A friend of mine worked as IRI/CRI at a major continental FTO until made redundant a few years ago. He used his redundancy cash to buy a microlight, took a one day course to convert his FI(A) to FI(M) - and is now making more per month than he ever made working at the FTO!
