Cross-crediting IR

Quick question on the paperwork requirement for IR cross crediting.

If I'm doing a MP skill test, it should revalidate the SP IR as long as I have done 3 del and arrival under IFR in the last 12 months. This credit is valid for the IR portion of my SE proficiency check.

However my SE proficiency check is not required before 1 year but the SP IR will expire before that.

Can the TRE sign my license on the SP IR SE line of my EASA license when he is doing a MPA type rating skill test?

Or how are you doing it when you are revalidating your MP type rating and at the same time revalidating the SP IR

thx

Any examiner can revalidate a SEP class rating but it would take either a IRE or CRE (single engine)with IRR (Instrument Revalidation Privelages) to revalidate your IR-SP-SE.

So a TRE alone cant revalidate your IR-SP-SE you will have to find a IRE or CRE/IRR

Thats assuming your after a revalidation not a renewal.

I try to keep mine current based on a MP type and the CRE/IRR arent always so easy to locate.

"I try to keep mine current based on a MP type"

How do you keep your SP IR current base on a MP type.

I know that the annex 8 specify that. But who is going to sign your SP IR SE line on the EASA license.
that's where I'm lost.

My PArt FCL licence no longer has an entry for IR SPA on it, it just has an entry next to the MEP Land for date of IR test. I questioned this and was told it is correct and covers me for SEP IR as it did in the past. The same entry is made for my type ratings with date of IR test next to the TR test date.

I still have the IR SP ME/SE entry on my license..... Have the IR test next to my MP rating. Have also an IR test next to my IRI. However the SEP land has no date for the IR test....

Guess they are not even standard in gatwick.

There would be no issue if i was till renewing my MEP land as it is valid for one year. However the SEP land is valid for two years.
In that case, i think nothing has to be added, just have a valid IR on the MP rating

No consistency at all. My IRI(A) does not have a date next to it for IR test!!

None of it really makes much sense. On the ratings section XIII I have the ratings listed, SEP, MEP, SEP(Sea), IR(A) /ME, NVFR, and then the Type Ratings and SET Class ratings. In the Instructors section it has FI(A), CRI(A)/SE, CRI(A)/ME IRI(A), TRI(A) and then in the examiners bit R, GRE, FE, CRE, TRE.

On the section for certificates of revalidation it has the MEP(Land) Class rating and next to it the date of IR test the same as the MEP. On the type ratings it does the same. Those are the only entries that refer to IR(A).

When I asked what would happen if I renewed the SPA IR in a Sim and what would the entry be they could not give me an answer. I am still waiting a response on it!!

As I far as I understand it (I did try and get my TRE to sign it) only someone who could conduct the IR-SPA-SE skill test can sign for the credit based on EASA FCL annex 8.

A better explanation is that I use the credit of my MP type rating to have my IR-SP-SE revalidated by experience, rather than test.

Under EASA still only an IRE or a CRE/SE with IRR privelages can revalidated your IR-SPA-SE

The CAA a few years ago answered an e-mail stating a TRE cannot revalidated a single pilot IR unless he is also IRE or CRE IRR.

But as BOSE X says there are some discrepencies on how things are done with the cross crediting. If they allow now it would great to know

Regards and Merry Christmas
