Flying Instructors & Examiners A place for instructors to communicate with one another because some of them get a bit tired of the attitude that instructing is the lowest form of aviation, as seems to prevail on some of the other forums!

Logging time as an instructor

Hi all, i recently got an instructor rating but i´m not working yet as an instructor.
A friend of mine who has a PPL wants to get familiar with a certain type of aircraft i used to fly and i offered to get him familiar with it, but can i log the time as an instructor even though i´m not working for the flight school?

Do you have a supervising FI to oversee your activities?

You need to be supervised for a minimum of your first 100 hours and 25 student solo sign offs. This realistically needs to be under the umbrella of a flying club, since for instruction to be given both instructor and student must be a member of the club/school.
