Flying Instructors & Examiners A place for instructors to communicate with one another because some of them get a bit tired of the attitude that instructing is the lowest form of aviation, as seems to prevail on some of the other forums!

Flight Simulator instructor requirements

If you've lost your medical, but would like to become a flight simulator instructor, what do you need to have? For example, do you need to have an ATP, type rating and a CFI?

LASORS Section H.5 covers the UK JAA requirements. But seeing CFI I'm guessing that you're American so the system may be different on the other side of the pond.

A Flight Simulator is in JAA terms a full motion multi-pilot device in which case you must be either a TRI or a SFI to instruct on such a device.
