Flying Instructors & Examiners A place for instructors to communicate with one another because some of them get a bit tired of the attitude that instructing is the lowest form of aviation, as seems to prevail on some of the other forums!

Question Instructing after 10 years off - opinions wanted

A Gr1/ex CFI/ex ATO decides to return to instructing after a 10 year break from flying. Is given a Gr1 back by a "buddy" after 6hours back in the seat. Please let me know what you think -should this person be given the full priviledges of the rating or should the CFI of the new school exercise caution and monitor/supervise the Gr1 by either flying with that Instructors students every few hours?
How would you feel if it was you getting back into the Instructing scene as a Gr1 and being told that you couldn't send a student off on first solo unless it was ok'd by the CFI?
