Counter measures dispensing system

Hi,

May I request to be educated on flight testing related to 'Counter Measures Dispensing System'... essentially a flare and chaff dispenser.

Once the requisite integration of this system on an airborne platform is complete---Is there a method, like possible computer based simulation to validate the efficacy of this system against ........ say first generation IR homing based missiles (I intend to discuss about flares only). We must consider associated variables like effect of IR suppressors, IR jammers being used in conjunction with the aircraft manoeuvring evasively while dispensing flares in an actual case?

If these tests are practically possible to be conducted (say)....will they be able to provide quantitative confidence towards the successful integration of the 'Counter Measures Dispensing System' on the airborne platform?

Thanks.

I would have thought anyone with a detailed knowledge of testing IR (and other) countermeasures would be very reluctant to discuss it in an open forum, given the - ahem - practical applications of such knowledge.

One physical way is to fly the subject missile missile behind the target aircraft and observe the effects. More expensive is then to fire a number of the subject rounds - or copies - and observe the actual effectiveness.

I'm with the MS......this topic stands a real risk of getting into classified stuff that ain't appropriate. Suffice to say that practical testing of effectiveness is possible.....Cheers

Peeush, this is the second time you've started a thread asking for information which would be of great practical use to certain terrorist organisations. Last time I warned you about it.

I'm closing this thread but leaving it up as a warning.

I don't know whether your motivation is malicious, or you are just being an idiot. Either way, do it again, and I'll ban you
