To all ex XL Ops folks

Go with the previous posters, believe me, it's mind expanding, great fun, good crews, places you've never heard of. CFP systems you'd never think of putting to use, a global network that is only a 'wet dream' for air carrier folks.

Go for it all of you lot. Those @ LGW, FAB ain't that far, Biggin is up the hill, even LTN ain't that far. Check the adds and PM the previous posters.

There are positions out there, FAB is a great location to be based in.

Look East

Goodluck to you all.

Try looking East (Middle and Far) lots of opportunities in Mainline and GA just google!

The Middle East (UAE) not so much the 'streets are paved with gold' place it used to be as living has become very expensive lately but if you can get with the programme embrace the culture and handle the heat it is still a worthwhile experience.

The Far East offers cheaper living but salaries also tend to be a little lower and living conditions can be a bit tougher.

Long way to go for work but sure didn't our industry spawn the 'global village' and if that's the case then everything is 'just around the corner'!

Beware The Gulf folks

Check very, very carefully the real value package, salary, rents, cost of living, traffic (DXB). The salaries being offered in the BIZAV Charter operations, the Flt Ops suppport companies is pathetic, you want to live 6 to a 2 bed apartment? Be very careful. I have ex staff who have gone, come back very sad.

Also check the Brokers, there are some good honest companies looking for folks with Flt Ops experience, as well as a good quick mind.

There is enough in the UK and Lisbon with Netjets, but check the UK 1st and use the Gulf as a last chance situation. Don't go to India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Nigeria etc., Brit expats are not treated very well these days, things have changed from my sprog days, then it was great fun.

PM for further folks. Cheers Arthur's little helper!

Good luck to you all

Just to say good luck to all the ops staff from Excel.

I had an interview there a few years ago, but was not sucessful. Thought it looked a brilliant set up, and everybody I met that day was so warm and friendly.

I really wish you all the very best for the future.

Good luck to you all.

Good luck to you all.

I lost by first Ops job at Laker Airways, but I've been fortunate to have worked in aviation ever since.

Count me in on that one too. DXB is mega expensive now, accomodation impossible to find. And they will work you like hell, especially DNATA/Emirates
