Operations/Flight Dispatch Qualification?

Was wondering if any of you can tell me whether its worth my while getting a qualification in Flight dispatch?
City and guilds offer a Operations/Flight Dispatch qualification thats costs around £1000.
Im currently working on the ground, have been crew aswell and in the not too distant future thats what i want to get into so was thinking this may help?
Ive also read its possible to obtain a faa licence in dispatch after completing the relevant courses so maybe this would be better but obviously i would have to fit this round my shifts at LHR so someone may know if any insitutes locally offer this?
Any advice would be gratefully received
