Scholarship for Part 66 studies available

The Worshipful Company of Coachmakers and Coach Harness Makers offer many aviation pilot and engineer scholarships through the Air League and directly.

The city of London Livery Company is an active livery investing in young people and is very pleased to be able to award a new £5k scholarship towards the Part 66 course costs to help aviation mechanics and technicians to take their Part 66 B1/B2 licences. The details of this prestigious scholarship and the application form can be found here https://coachmakers.co.uk/news/2017/...on-scholarship

Please view the page and tell any aspiring engineers who may like a little help in achieving the next move in their career.

The closing date for applications is 30 June 2017

The pre requisites for this scholarship make this available to only a small group of people. How many mechs can leave work to study back to back with there job waiting at the end, same with forces guys. I think only contractors who have saved up enough before taking the time off to study for a period would be suitable.
Whilst it is great that this is available maybe financial help across a 2 year period would allow more suitable candidates the opportunity to apply

The scholarship is for modular courses over however long it takes the candidate to complete the course. It has been specifically targeted at individuals who are mechanics or technicians and who would like to achieve their Part 66 licence but can not afford to take the next step without some help and wish to enrol on a modular course. The aim is to help retain good people in the industry by offering assistance in that next career step which is not funded by their employer. The scholarship would be paid directly to the part 147 provider module by module. The scholarship is designed for the modular candidate to do over a period of time, exactly as you suggest.
