EASA pt 66 in english in Germany
Hi there
As a Kiwi living now in Germany, and because my NZ CAA and CASA licenses are not recognised by EASA (Grrrr) I intend to start studying from home for my Pt66 B2 license modules (again... Grrrrr)
What I'd like to know is, is there anyone in my position - i.e., living in Europe and has done the modules in English. My German is okay for day-to-day stuff, but not good enough to sit exams with.
The other option is to fly to the UK and sit exams, but from where I live (Cologne) it's a major hassle and expense to get to Gatwick.
Thanks in advance Chris

EASA part 66 licence English in Gemany
German licence schools take from Euro 200 to 300 per module for exams only!
If I were you I would go to London. Exams in London cost about Euro 45. It takes 3 exam trips. I recommend my students to start with modules 1 to 5. To avoid double learning of modules take modules 6, 7, 9 & 10 and essays next. Last trip is modules 8,13 & 14. I hope this helps!

You can also try Aero Bildung Gmbh near Munich; I've done some of my modules here.
Aero Bildung
They gave us some pdf training materials and access to their web based training tools. Then there was a one or two days long (depending on the module) course before the actual exam. All this was in English.
I'm not sure they will offer such a course for one person only, but you can give it a try.
There are several other Part-147 approved companies in Germany, the other I know is Lufthansa Technical Training in Frankfurt, but I think they offer only full courses lasting for two years. Anyway, I think most German schools give you the possibility to use training materials and make an exam in English.

I would avoid doing exams and getting a license from the German LBA as they are much more difficult to deal with than the CAA. Apparently you have to sit approved courses to even sit the Part 66 exams; you can't self study and just turn up and take the exams like you can with the CAA!
In the UK there are also exam venues in Oxford, Luton, and Prestwick (Scotland)
