Airbus : APU EMER SHUT DOWN Vs AUTO SHUT DOWN

According to the FCOM an APU shuts down automatically with the an ECAM : APU EMER SHUTDOWN , if there is an APU Fire detected on ground , or the flt crew presses the APU FIRE bp , or the ground crew presses the APU SHUT OFF pb on the nose gear interphone panel . However I have had the experience of having the APU auto shutting down with this ECAM for none of the above reasons .
When the APU shuts down automatically for a reason other than a fire then the ECAM shoud display. APU AUTO SHUT DOWN .
However as I said the EMER SHUT DOWN came up at ECAM and the captains after I very brief pause elected to switch it on back again ( subsequently the starts were successful)
Is it the case that Airbus is prone to erroneous EMER SHUT DOWNS in which case we can freely disregard them if none of the above conditions is valid or are there any hidden causes for this to happen to which the best action is to refrain from switching it back on ?
