B777 Question: At what quantity in an individual...

main fuel tank will the EICAS message: Fuel Qty Low appear?

I had heard it was 4.2 tons total or the first main tank to reach 2.1 tons would trigger the EICAS message.

I'm looking for a reference for it

Thanks if anyone can help

Kap

Courtesy B777 FIM ...

The EICAS message FUEL QTY LOW will show when there is less than 4500 LB (2000 KG) of fuel the left or right main fuel tank.

NOTE: The EICAS message will go off when the fuel quantity in each main fuel tank is increased to 4700 LB (2200 KG)

Hope this helps

Cod...

Thanks. What is the "FIM"? Flight information Manual? That's what I'm looking for is the reference.

About a year ago my airline got rid of the Boeing Airplane Manual altogether in the aircraft and that reference to the numbers it activates the EICAS is nowhere to be found in the FCOM at all.

Thanks again

Kap

Thanks Cod...

Sounds like it's more of a maintenance reference than one pilots would use?

Thanks for the reference.

oh my god ! this guy should be a pilot flying in the uae and who is trying to follow some stupid stuff said by his management ...
if you get this message , dude , that means that you have a LOW FUEL QUANTITY , thats it !!!
try to glide with a T7 ...
Cod , are you a beginner ? this kind of message has nothing to deal with the FIM !
It is not a fault but nothing else than an operationnal message !
i can not believe it ...

Take it easy Max, I’ve merely provided a simple reply to a pretty straightforward question (complete with source document).

I feel that your condescending remarks are out of line and uncalled for, but don’t worry my friend, I am not offended. I can see from viewing a small sample of your previous posts that you like to provoke. Whatever “dude”, that’s your nature.

Anyway, it’s the weekend Max, may I suggest that you open yourself up a bottle of fine French red. Relax, enjoy a glass or two, and don’t worry if it tastes like piss, you can always pour it on that flamethrower of yours.

Ced,
I agree , your drivers should be French speakers , that will explain it ...

Cod,
You made me laugh...
Why are you talking about alcohol , a problem with it ?
Do you have a FUEL QTY LOW ...?
Everybody knows that cod liver oil has a better taste than French wine ...
A more personal question : on your car , are you waiting to have the fuel reserve light on to refuel it ?
Go on reading the AMM , thats a good start ...

SeldomFixit,
I am still in touch with most of the guys i have worked with , one just called me yesterday and we stayed two hours on the phone...
Now , please tell me , what is the link with a FUEL QTY LOW msg on the B777 ...?

hee hee you funny man matmax. don't mind there taunts. I think we both cut from the same cloth.

I remember we have this fault last year. we try numerous resets but problem would not go away, finaly went into tank and changed densitometer, refueled to do leak check and test, and voila problem went away.

So like matmax says, always good to start with AMM

Tank yu EK Profesional.
But my friend , it is not because a pilot raised a snag that you have to reset something or try to fix something ... maybe there is no fault , simply !
I think thats a problem with many Engineers nowadays ...
You get a FUEL QTY LOW msg , first thing to look at , is the quantity of the remaining fuel in the tanks (common sense !!!) ... then the Manufacturer , is this case , to help you , created something called the MAT : Maintenance Access Terminal , use it !
Check the IFDE , PRESENT LEG FAULT , etc ... until you find something in the right ATA and then if it is necessary ... the FIM , you know , the Flight Information Manual
Anyway , all i just said is the basic way of working ... normally !

@ MATMAX, no our drivers are not french speaking, they speak the language of shakespeare but from the other side of the pond
and also the french wine wasn't bad with you(except some hang overs) so please, respect it
and also common sense, something that isn't easy to find in many individuals, but with a complete insane logbook entry just as quantity fuel low, they ask us to sign it off with an amm or fim ref instead of just responding that this pilot was too to see that he was too low on fuel qty and that this is a normal eicas message

TURIN,
Are you making sometimes a thread , moving forward ...?
Anyway , your imagination is very fertile or is it because you are back in dxb and feel frustrated ...?

Ced,
The pilots asked you to reply with an AMM reference ???!!!
Are you telling them how to do their job !!!???

am i telling how to do their job! no!!! did i told em once how to use their magic buttons and how all this monkey motion works! yes!!!!
