BOEING 777 ACARS /AIMS USER GUIDE

Good day all,
Season's Greetings - Hope everyone has a great Christmas.

I am looking for some 'user guide' for a B777 ACARS/AIMs setup.

I need to change the Airline Stand ID (2 letter & 3 letter) indentifier. Was wondering how to access the menu and if any passwords to put in before it will allow any changes.

Thank you,
Dom

I believe it's done through software updating on the 777 - you need to ask your Boeing field rep for help on this one as I think you will need to produce a new disk.

It will consist of a modified OPC (Operation Program Config) which needs to be loaded into the AIMS CPMs (Core Processor Modules).

This is a kind of software pin programming, you'll need to see the field rep as they have access to the specific software to produce a new OPC.

To add ACARS is in the CPM/COMM modules (DCMF - Data Comm Management Function).

Hi Fargoo..thank you...

So if it's just changing service provider from Vendor A to Vendor B...the 2 letter & 3 letter Identifier It can only be done only via a software update thru the OPC / CPM ?

Tks/Dom

I believe that is correct, yes.

On later aircraft you can change the Tail ID and Airline ID using the MFD and going to the ACARS manager page but it still needs to match the software loaded in the CPM before it will work.

Are you trying to change the reg and airline ID or are you just switching your data provider?
