Since I was a child, I am always fascinated with aircrafts. However, due to some reasons, I was not able to pursue a degree in Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT). I am already a graduate of 5 year engineering course. I would like to work with aircrafts so I'm planning to take up a short course in Aircraft Maintenance. Would taking up a short course enable me to work immediately after completion or I would need to take up AMT course which lasts about 4 years?
I suggest you inquire major airlines engineering departments to see if they are offering trainee/apprenticeship program for engineers or techs. That is a much better route compared to getting a engineering paper. The engineering paper helps but enrolling thru the airline means you get paid to study for what you like. Plus guaranteed employment, provided you pass the papers of course !
I would respectfully suggest that if you read the regulations on engineer licensing for whichever country you intend to pursue a licence in, you should find all the information you need about qualifications and experience.
You don't want to be a proud technician, you want to be a professional one. If your English isn't fluent in verbal and technical written forms, practice it until it is (although you seem to fulfil that by your previous posts) It's amazing the number of Flips who are employed in the UK, who's English isn't up to the standard required to be a technician / mechanic working with English documentation. Saying "Yes" to every "Do you understand?" usually gives the clue away..
