Lightbulb Proposed New Rules (Flight Licensing and Training Organisations)

http://www.casa.gov.au/avreg/newrule.../FCLimpact.pdf

Media Release John Anderson

AOPA News

What are your views on all these changes and how they will affect you as a pilot and future pilots or operators?

Overview, just to name a few;

Introduction of a single Instructor Rating

Each Rating to remain valid indefinitely but with a Biennial Flight Review.

Before being allowed to sit an Aeronautical Knowledge exam, candidate must be recommended by the holder of Ground Instructor Rating. (The end of home studies)

Examiners would require additional training in ANTA (AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL TRAINING ATHORITY) Certificate 4 assessment.

Replacement of AOC for flying schools with FTC (FLIGHT TRAINING CERTIFICATE)

Flight instructors are not expected to be significantly affected by the Proposed Part 141 changes

Withdrawal of Special Pilots Licence

Ratings to remain valid indefinitely but with Biennial Flight reviews to ensure the holder maintains the competencies associated with each rating

As these are anonymous forums the origins of the contributions may be opposite to what may be apparent. In fact the press may use it, or the unscrupulous, or sciolists*, to elicit certain reactions.

*"sciolist"... Noun, archaic. "a person who pretends to be knowledgeable and well informed".
