I think your signature block at the bottom sums it up best.. "... caution.. wake turbulence.."
surely lead to major slow down in Aviation market with economic effects and the resulting increase in oil prices ...
PAF
If it aint a Lockheed-Martin, I ain't startin'.

That be the tip of the iceberg PAF !
If the conflict is restricted to 1 or 2 countries, I would guess global commercial aviation will survive albeit slower than before.
Who knows who will jump in to what corners as things progress ?
I hope no one is stupid enough to take on NATO, then again, look what happened this week.

Unfortunately logic does appear to come into these things. However it's peril to refuse/attack a rampaging giant.
I don't think it will be restricted to rampaging giants. Commercial traffic I believe will grind to a halt soon enough, save for domestic travel.

New Zealand Press Association: Sunday 16 September.
The New Zealand Response.
At 3pm Sunday the NZ Primeminister Ms Helen Clarke announced NZ's full support for a war against terrorism.
New Zealand would disbatch, immediately, it only warship, HMNZS Canoe, to Tahiti. The crew armed with the cheapest sunscreen the Govt could supply.
In addition Ms Clarke detailed that the phased withdrawal of the Air Attack Force would be brought forward so that under no circumstances could they be involved. The Skyhawks would be mounted at the gates to Auckland, Wellington and her house to ward off evil spirits.
The Orions are grounded (except for trans-tasman VIP flights)...and Ms Clarke reiterated her May speech, denying that submarines actually exist.
The killer blow will have ever be the use of the NZ SAS. With immmediate effect Ms Clark announced that a special team of financial operatives, headed by Dr Micheal Cullen and consisting of the board of Air NZ, have been tasked to infiltrate the inner sanctum of Osama Bin Laden's organisation to provided accurate and timely financial advice.
In a follow up to yesterdays comment, PM Clarke stated that if ever a terrorist attack occured in NZ, she would tell them off very strongly and poke them with a big stick, until they cried.

Oh what a pityful little nation we are. Sorry USA, sorry Aussie we have let you both down.

VERY, very funny. Can I suggest also a renaming of HMAS ANZAC...perhaps HMAS AAC would be more appropriate.
