Air South

I hear that Air South is looking for a chief pilot for their 1900D, Is it for their charter ops or an expansion of their RPT to Kangaroo Island or maybe new routes?

Charter to Challenger mine I believe. The Bandit needs a refuel to make it. Unfortunately getting the 1900 on the AOC clearly wasn't as easy as MK might have thought.

Yep, they want a larger aircraft and one that can make it without a refuel...

Also their 2 Completly different issues....

Air South have been looking for a CP since Dan quit over 2 years ago now roughly... MK took over for now, but they have been looking for a while, B1900D (I belive it is, well it was supposed to be) is now just a little more incentive on the CP position...

and there wont be any more expansions on the RPT,

1 C404 Titan,

YPAD-YKSC
YKSC-YPAD

Daily, and 4 Times there, and 4 back, I think thats enough....

But when O'Conner went down, Pt Lincon was begging, however I belive Sharp Airlines got in first, and had a better offer...

March 2007 Air South were look at Pt Lincon, I guess their 1900D isn't for that and I can't see Titans doing the run

Air South Charters approached the council in November last year, and the company advised its interest in an Adelaide to Port Lincoln service.

The Beech was always for the Charters to Challenger, Olympic Dam, possibly Beverly,

It would have been probably a chiefton going to Pt Lincon,

Also there are 4 Titans, but only one/ two on the RPT the other 2/ 3 are on charter or maint.

VH-ENT
VH-SKC (Ex-Skytrans) (RPT)
VH-TMP (RPT)
VH-XXX (Ex-Skytrans, cant recall the tail)

Also the position wont be handed to just anyone, they'll have to work for it, and have a good passion, and someone who will actually stay, and not dick MK around...

Yes...

Passion for the company,

And "dick them around" take the CP job, then leave to bigger places....

If they're interested in the job,

Look at staying, doing the job, and doing it well, as I'm sure most would, however except the staying, bigger airlines offer more money..

Yep, its abit unfortuante for them,

I'm hoping for them that perhaps an older gentleman comes along perhaps close to retirement, but with a few years left of working, passionate about flying, who might take a keen interest, with some managment experience, and obviously flying experience.......

would be quite nice,
But unfortuantly dont think that'll happen anytime soon...

But unfortunately its going to be tough to find such a person given todays climate
There are a number of suitable ex Rex guys floating around who would fit the bill, one of them is currently driving the Rex busses I believe!
