W10 dual boot with Linux??

Finally solved the previous 'Crash dump' problem by buying another machine. UNFORTUNATELY, it has W10 installed!:yuk: Even more unfortunately, it is the latest version which has sunk even lower in the grubby stakes by preventing any access to the bios for dual boot installation. Any attempt to boot from the Linux Mint dvd just brings the machine to a halt and blanks the screen. Does anyone know of a simple (hopefully!) workaround so that I can regain control of the machine which I purchased from the expletive deleteds at MS!!:mad::mad:

This looks like a good guide:
How to Install Linux Mint 18 Alongside Windows 10 or 8 in Dual-Boot UEFI Mode

Thank you for that pointer. It sort of half worked!! It ALMOST got me to the right menu and a bit of 'grubbing around' eventually allowed me to configure the bios as wanted. I managed to load Linux but lost W10 in the process, which, on reflection, is probably no bad thing!!:ok: Ah!, the joys of computing:ugh:

So long as you can still see the W10 partition from within Linux, you won't have lost it, just the boot sector of the hard disk that starts W10. It is possible to dual boot, but Microsoft don't make it easy. Just to improve your computer's security, you understand! :}
