XP/OE6/Word

This is a bit mundane for the experts but... I regularly receive e - mails with attachments partly completed - reference requests for job applicants. OE6 opens the attachments in Word and I try to complete the proforma. However, it does not let me modify the proforma even if I save the attachement as a new Word Document. What I am nor doing/doing wrong?

Soddit,

Are these solicited or unsolicited emails? The reason I ask is because Word Docs can contain viruses.

Some Viruses spoof word documents and job applications etc.

Take Care,

Thank you Richard..interesting point. However, the e mails in question are bona fide and not arriving unexpectedly.Until now I have printed out the e mails, answered the questions in handwriting and scanned back the completed document. It is, to say the least, cumbersome and there must be an easier way!

Soddit,

Try highlighting the entire text in the Doc and pasting it in a new Doc to see if you can edit it then.

Also, which OS and which version of Office/Word are you using?

Take Care,
