Winsxs Folder

Thought I'd start a separate thread for this beasty.

My sxs folder has 8700 folders (6gb) starting with "amd64...". While noting that MS recommends not deleting any files in the sxs folder, could I delete these as they are (probably ) for an amd system (me intel)?

Hi,

AMD64 is the required for all 64 bit systems, basically the first 64 bit system was built by AMD. Intel tried to make their own, failed, and licensed/based the one on your computer off of AMD, which is why the AMD letters are in there. Don't delete them, your computer will cease to be a computer & just a box of bits!
