New computer coming, can I still play old games?

So today I have a shiny new computer coming from novatech with a reasonable graphics card (Geforce 750) and windows 8.1. My question is, can I still play my old Call of duty Modern Warfare game on it. Presumably I will have to download a compatible version via Steam.

Any help gratefully received.

Wigglyamps.

I remember back in the old days one could purchase 'emulator' software for playing games/w/p on different os. Probably does not exist any more.

For DOS/Windows 3 download the free DOSBOX. Installation is easy and for DOS games it works right away. If you have a win3 installer you'll need to grab the graphics drivers off the site, there are instructions somewhere on the forum.

If it ran well on XP you can try WMWare Player, and use your old XP discs. Win2k had trouble with the graphics, I haven't bothered to pursue the matter.
