I wasn't too worried about the cost until I saw the small print. I have no idea how folk in the UK pay their bills. 15pence connection charge!!!!!!! 3 shillings to effin' connect you to the call you're paying for. Oh, my. OK, someone said the other day there are alternatives. I don't want a house phone at all, just brisk internet. Is there a solution to this dilemma?

Oh, and I may only stay in this dwelling a few months. BT want a year and a half contract. Ba@#$

That's taking the biscuit.

Yes. Its called LLU.

Basically, find yourself an ISP who's not just reselling BT's services under their own label, and bob's your uncle.

To get you started....Easynet is one name. For the rest, a tool such as SamKnows might help ?

Yes, well, doesn't surprise me.... how do you think BT can manage the headline rates they advertise.... answer is by lock-in and cross-subsidy.
