Word Strikethrough command

Does Libre Office text document have a Strikethrough command ?

I frequently have an operational report to complete, using a prepared form that has many parameters pre-loaded, and it is therefore only necessary to change the values, which saves a lot of time.

The final line has four boxes with different options - all of which are "struck through" the first being "Achieved" and the other three being different reasons for the task not being achieved, so it is only necessary to remove the "strikethrough" from the relevant option, not re-type them each time.

A colleague has removed the Ms. Word programme that we used to create the form, and replaced it with Libre Office and I can't find the strike through command, which in Word was in Format/Font/Effects/Strikethrough, so I can't "remove strikethrough" now.

Mr. Google suggests that Libre Office has the strikethrough command in Font/Effects just as in Word - but I can't find it.

Any clues pls. ?

The words "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" come to mind ..... but there's always someone who loves tinkering, especially if they're a paid up member of the "open source regardless" brigade.

Don't spend much time with Libre Office myself, but hopefully someone will be around shortly who does.

Mixture - agreed, I've even gone back to Word 97, couldn't cope with all the options and differences on 2007 and 2010. Didn't need them , like buying an f1.4 lens and stopping it down to f11 for 99% of the time - OK, so I miss that one shot of a lifetime, the black cat entering the coal cellar - tough.

Bushfiva - thanks, don't have Libre Office on this machine ( see above ) will try next time I have the issue.

I'm using LibreOffice 3.5.4.2 and all I have to do is so mark the word(s), then right-click to get a menu which includes all kinds of style.

right-click
Quite so. The right click menu is the context menu. Sorry if that's an unfamiliar term.

mark the word(s)
Opened Libre Office

Typed some words.

'Highlighted' a word

Right clicked and got the menu with Styles - highlighting was removed from selected word as this function was performed

Selected Strikethrough

Nothing happened.

At least I've found the strikethrough command, thank you, just got to work out how to use it now !

Later .......

GOT IT !!

It's not sufficient to just highlight the required word or phrase, the mouse cursor must remain on such word or phrase whilst you execute the right click, this requires more concentration and hand/eye co-ordination than that required for the previous Word programme that we had. Also, one has now to 'educate' all the other guys who use it - a volunteer Coastguard Unit whose members are more interested in Saving Lives at Sea than placating some I.T.programme.

Easier in Word ( ain't broke, don't fix it etc ! )

Thanks anyway - NZ amateur sailors can go to sea now secure in the knowledge that their mis-adventures can be properly documented for the Office Wallahs, even if they aren't rescued !!
